Smart Car Wet Carpet Will Not Start

Does anybody know what is wrong.
Smart car wet carpet will not start. If it becomes a sunny day and everything dries the car starts up just fine. After all cars are designed to keep water out. Cars are enclosed spaces with poor air circulation when the car is not running. It turns itself on automatically after 60 seconds if you have not started car after unlocking it.
If it is dry then hoorah. My smart car won t start and it shows a little key symbol in the centre of the dash why. I am fairly certain that the water didn t come in from the passengers shoes. Water damage is a problem anywhere but can be especially bad in cars. So i left the carpet proped up overnight to let it all dry out. As if that s not difficult enough the carpet lining in a. Fortunately a little heat and air circulation will do the trick.
